Giving Back to the Community

Giving Back to the Community

At 503found, we believe that a beautiful space is only the beginning. True community is built when we extend our resources, creativity, and passion beyond our showroom walls and into the lives of those who need it most. Our commitment to giving back is woven into the fabric of our boutique, from the partners we choose to the causes we champion. This page is a celebration of the organizations we support and the people who inspire us to keep giving.

Why Giving Back Matters to Us

As a small business rooted in Orange County, we know that our success is directly tied to the health and vibrancy of our community. Giving back isn’t just a line item on our annual plan—it’s a core value that shapes how we operate every day. Whether we’re donating a portion of proceeds from a special collection or volunteering our time at a local event, we see these efforts as essential to being a responsible neighbor.

Our founder, 503found, has always believed that design should serve a higher purpose. From the very beginning, we’ve sought out partnerships with nonprofits that align with our values of compassion, creativity, and inclusivity. By using our platform to raise awareness and funds, we hope to inspire our customers and fellow business owners to join us in making a difference.

Organizations We Proudly Support

We are honored to work with a range of organizations that are making a tangible impact in our community and beyond. Each partnership is carefully chosen to reflect our commitment to meaningful, lasting change. Below are just a few of the groups we’ve had the privilege to support.

Operation Smile

One of our longest-standing partnerships is with Operation Smile, a global nonprofit that provides life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries to children in need. We were first drawn to their work because of their belief that every child deserves access to safe, quality surgical care, regardless of where they are born. Over the years, we’ve participated in fundraising events and awareness campaigns, and we’ve seen firsthand the profound impact a single surgery can have on a child’s life.

In 2015, we were thrilled to attend the Smile Gala, where our friend and collaborator Selma Blair was honored for her dedication to the cause. The event raised an incredible $1.1 million, a testament to the generosity of the community and the tireless work of Operation Smile’s co-founders, Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee. The Rodosky family was also recognized with the Founders Circle Award for their outstanding contributions as a family, a reminder that giving back is often a collective effort.

“We don’t just sell furniture; we build relationships. And those relationships extend to the organizations that are doing the hard work of healing and uplifting our community.”

Local Arts and Design Education

As a design-focused business, we are passionate about nurturing the next generation of creative minds. We regularly partner with local schools and arts organizations to provide mentorship, materials, and scholarships for students interested in interior design and the arts. We believe that creativity is a powerful force for good, and we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to explore their talents.

Through workshops and internships, we’ve had the joy of watching young designers grow and find their voice. It’s a reminder that our industry thrives when we invest in the people who will shape its future.

Community Wellness and Housing Initiatives

A home is more than just four walls—it’s a sanctuary. That’s why we support organizations that provide safe, stable housing and essential services to individuals and families in need. From furnishing transitional housing units to participating in community clean-up days, we are committed to helping create spaces where people can heal and thrive.

We’ve also partnered with local shelters to provide design consultations that make their spaces more welcoming and functional for residents. It’s a small way to use our expertise for a greater good, and it’s one of the most rewarding parts of our work.

How Our Customers Get Involved

We believe that giving back is a team effort, and our customers are an essential part of that team. Throughout the year, we host special events and promotions where a percentage of sales goes directly to our partner organizations. We also collect donations for local drives and encourage our community to volunteer alongside us.

One of our favorite initiatives is our annual “Design for Good” event, where we transform a community space—such as a library, community center, or shelter—using donated furniture and decor. It’s a hands-on way for our team and customers to see the direct impact of their contributions, and it always leaves us feeling inspired and grateful.

Stories That Inspire Us

Behind every donation and volunteer hour is a story of resilience and hope. We’ve had the privilege of meeting families whose lives have been changed by the organizations we support, and their stories fuel our commitment to keep giving. From a child who received a life-changing surgery to a family who found stability in a furnished home, these moments remind us why we do what we do.

We also draw inspiration from our fellow business owners and designers who use their platforms for good. The design community is full of generous, creative people, and we are proud to be part of a network that values giving back as much as we do.

Looking Ahead: Our Commitment Continues

As we grow, so does our ability to give back. We are constantly exploring new partnerships and ways to deepen our impact, whether through larger donations, more volunteer opportunities, or innovative fundraising events. We know that the needs of our community are always evolving, and we are committed to listening, learning, and adapting our approach.

We invite you to join us on this journey. Whether you shop with us, volunteer your time, or simply spread the word about the causes we support, you are part of the 503found community. Together, we can create spaces that are not only beautiful but also meaningful—spaces that reflect the best of who we are and what we can achieve when we come together.
